About

Spanning across two days, this programme will explore basic ikat technique whilst using yarn made from textile waste. The first day will consist of learning how to hand-spin yarns made from various sources for fibers and textile waste.

These yarns will then be framed up and participants will learn how ikat or Resist Dyeing) is done. Using natural waste materials as dyes, your yarns will be tied up according to your motifs and dyed.

The next day, participants will then used their dried yarns and be woven into a piece using frame looms. Once completed, participants will be able to bring back their finished woven pieces.
