The buaya (crocodile) is more than an animal, in Malay folklore it is a penunggu (river guardian). It lives in both water and on land, moving gracefully in water, yet powerful on land.

About

Honouring the river guardian, the pavilion’s roof mirrors the undulating ridges of the crocodile’s back, capturing the fluid strength of an animal built for water, yet deeply connected to the land. Bamboo is used to express the silent natural strength of the crocodile. The weaving roof panels casts dancing shadows on the ground across the day, like water rippling and glistening.

Everyone is welcome to visit this free and open installation at any time during the advertised festival period (26.09 - 5.10)!
