📖 Synopsis

The Letters Never Sent follows the story of Hou Jie, an aging MaJie — a self-combed woman who, in her youth, left Guangdong and spent her life working as a devoted domestic caretaker in Malaya. After many years abroad, Si En, the girl she once raised like a daughter, returns home only to find that Hou Jie has quietly left, leaving behind memories and an unsent letter. Haunted by loss and longing, Si En embarks on a moving journey through time and memory to rediscover Hou Jie's sacrifices, quiet resilience, and enduring love. Through this intimate site-specific performance, the audience is invited to walk alongside the performers and experience a story of migration, care, and the profound search for belonging.
