About

SICFest Grand Prix
The Grand Prix is the highlight of the Sarawak International Choral Festival’s final day. All category winners from the adjudicated performances will compete in this special showcase for the Grand Prix Trophy and a cash prize of USD 2,500. This exciting round brings together the best choirs of the festival for one last performance, judged by our international panel. It’s a celebration of musical excellence and a thrilling finale to the festival.

Special Appearance!
Kinderchor der Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin (GERMANY):
Even if music is not (yet) their profession, the girls and boys of the children's choir of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden are very present in the theatre. The traditional ensemble has gained great recognition in recent years. The eight to sixteen-year-old members perform in operas such as La Bohème, Tosca, Der Rosenkavalier and Carmen, sing concerts with the Staatskapelle Berlin, but also with piano accompaniment and a cappella. Invitations to other major orchestras and to travel to the USA, Argentina, Mexico, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam speak for themselves, as do awards at national and international choir competitions (1st prize winner at the 2014 German Choir Competition, among others).
