A dynamic and multi-talented performer, leading a double life- an engineer by day and an energetic artist by night, Roshini Chandran’s creative journey began in 2018 with Fa Abdul’s Tales from the Bedroom, followed by Tales from the Jamban (2019) and Tales from Malaysia Baru (2019). Since then, she has continued to captivate audiences with her commanding stage presence and emotional versatility.
Her early performances established a strong foundation marked by range and charisma. From the lovable, spirited Baloo in The Jungle Book (2019) to the sharp and charismatic Gilly in Memes: A Love Story (2019), Roshini demonstrated an ability to balance humour with intensity. In Forkbeard: A Viking Musical Odyssey (2020), she delivered a memorable performance as one of the three witches, blending mischief with mystery and leaving a lasting impression through her energy and stagecraft.
Transitioning into more layered and dramatic roles, Roshini revealed remarkable emotional depth. Her portrayal of Letchumi in All About Letchumi (2022) was both bold and heartfelt, capturing humour and vulnerability with authenticity. In The Burden of Proof (2022), she delivered a powerful performance centred on real-life experiences of harassment, embodying complex narratives with sensitivity and conviction.
Beyond acting, Roshini has consistently lent her voice to powerful, nostalgic, and memorable songs across numerous theatrical productions, enriching her performances with vocal depth, emotional nuance, and a strong connection to audiences.
Her recent achievements reflect a refined and confident performer at the height of her craft. In 1 in a Million: A P. Ramlee Tribute (2023, 2025) and The P. Ramlee Series (2025), she portrayed iconic figures such as Saloma and Latifah, bringing timeless classics to life with elegance, authenticity, and vocal finesse.
With notable work as both narrator and lead in Street of Pest (2023), and a compelling performance in Tulang Tulang Berserakan (2025), Roshini continues to evolve as a fearless and versatile storyteller—bringing authenticity, strength, and artistry to every stage she commands. In A Bride for My Son (2025) under My Penang Creative, she showcased remarkable range—transitioning seamlessly from a lighthearted, comedic presence into a commanding, empowered businesswoman. Further cementing her stature, she took on a powerful leading role in Angin Pusara Songsang, embodying intensity and depth with striking conviction.
Looking ahead, she is set to take on the role of Baka, a shaman in Penang Players’ Rani Dhobi, where she plays a pivotal character guiding the ensemble in building something only one could imagine-further demonstrating her commitment to bold, imaginative storytelling.
Roshini continues to push artistic boundaries, bringing layered storytelling, charisma, and emotional truth to every role-establishing herself as a dynamic force in Malaysia’s performing arts scene.
