Cheryl's journey in the performing arts began at church, where she joined the children's choir. She then produced shows and musicals for church events in her youth.
She also learned to play the piano at 4 years old. After obtaining her Teaching Diploma for piano, she taught piano alongside participating in multiple choirs.
In 2022, Cheryl made her producing and directing debut with Vox Inspira's "Sondheim: Putting it Together," a tribute to Stephen Sondheim. She also founded the acapella group Incidentals, producing the show 'Jukebox'.
Currently, Cheryl sings with the Young KL Singers, The Vochale Project, and Incidentals. Notable performances include singing at the 18th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards with YKLS and participating in the 3rd International Bandung Choral Festival, 1st International Phnom Penh Choral Competition and the 5th Vietnam International Choral Competition.
She has also been involved in KLPac's "Short + Sweet Malaysia : Musical" productions - composing songs, playing the keyboard, acting and singing in two Short + Sweet Malaysia productions.
Additionally, Cheryl contributed as a backup vocalist in Monday Show School's production of "Once on this Island," recently nominated in the 19th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards.
She also co-directed KLPac and Yayasan Sime Darby's RWD:FWD recently, with Yesterday Once More : We've Only Just Begun upcoming.
