Shaman Tearoom, founded by Aiwei Foo and Kent Lee, is a multidisciplinary artistic partnership
based in Kuala Lumpur. In addition to their work as sound healing practitioners, their practice
seamlessly fuses tea ceremonies, sound art, healing ambiences, and contemporary art into
refined sensory experiences. With a focus on mind cultivation, their work resonates with the
rhythms of daily life, offering profound encounters with the present moment.
They have participated in local and international exhibitions and performances, including
Singapore Ceramics Now! 2021(Singapore Art Week) and the London Architecture Festival 2021
as an international collaborator. In 2022, they joined the Buka Buku exhibition, a Wales–China-
led project presented in Malaysia and Hong Kong, and showcased video works at The Body
Language (Venice) and Blackout (Berlin). That same year, they held their first solo exhibition-
performance, Still Life, in Kuala Lumpur. In 2023, they premiered a new solo piece at ITBA
(Singapore Art Week) and conducted sound baths at the Rainforest World Music Festival. In
2024, they were invited to perform at the Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts (Esplanade), ArtScience
Encounters (ArtScience Museum, Singapore), and the Gyeonggi Ceramics Biennale (Gyeonggi
Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art, Korea), presenting a new performance piece alongside
video works.
