Izen Kong

Izen has performed with all the notable theatre production companies in Malaysia. Izen's stage work as a featured artiste include Dama Asia's “The Legends” and “Larger Than Life”, as well as Enfiniti Academy's “Aladdin - A Musical Comedy Reloaded”. His musical theatre appearances include working in acclaimed musicals such as PAN Productions' “Cabaret” as Herman, and Sifu Productions’ staging of “You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown” as Schroeder. Izen has since performed alongside renowned and established artistes such as Ida Mariana, Nikki Palikat, Peter Ong, Peter Davis, Rashid Salleh, Tria Aziz, Dina Nadzir, Mayjune Tan, Della (丁当), Hua Chengyu (华晨宇).

Izen's other notable appearances include being a featured soloist in ‘The Best of Rodgers & Hammerstein’ concert with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, ‘Opera In The Park’ by Singapore Lyric Opera, and ‘That's Entertainment’ by PAN Productions. He has also appeared in television
programmes such as ‘The Voice’ for Singapore/Malaysia, and ‘Come Sing with Me’ for China 2021. Izen also collaborated with renowned jazz ensemble WVC as a featured soloist on their album “Purnama” performing the iconic ‘Tunggu Sekejap’.

WVC 

WVC consists of bandleader/composer/arranger/music director/pianist Tay Cher Siang; bassist AJ; and drummer Adriel Wong. The band is one of the most active units on the Malaysian performance circuit, and performs alongside many Malaysian and international artists, and is one of the most sought after jazz bands in Malaysia.

WVC have released six albums to date: these albums explore different musical genres, while maintaining the spirit of jazz as their core, and feature different line-up combinations. The band experiments with transforming pop tunes, Chinese classics and mainstream music into new jazz rearrangements.

WVC continues to push musical boundaries, producing innovative, boundary-breaking projects including: Shakespeare Jazz; Haruki Murakami and Jazz; The Shang Sisters; Modern Nanyang; and the pre-independence Malayan music project.
