About
What does it mean to carry and be carried? To support and be supported? To hold and be held?
Drawing on the lived experiences of disabled, Deaf, and neurodivergent communities in Malaysia, Being Carried combines movement, monologue, sound, and signed and spoken languages to explore care, interdependence, resilience, and belonging.
This special preview event will feature excerpts from the work-in-progress, alongside conversations with the creative team on disability arts, accessibility, creative collaboration, and disability justice.
Artists and collaborators will share insights into the development of the project and the evening will also include reflections on creating equitable access, as well as the role of the arts in fostering inclusion and social change.
Following the discussion and sharing session, guests are invited to stay for a mixer and informal networking opportunity with the artists, cultural practitioners, disability advocates, and members of the wider creative community.
This event offers invited guests an early glimpse into Being Carried ahead of its full public performances at KLPAC from 24–26 July 2026, where audiences will experience the complete work and the stories at the heart of this international collaboration.
