Lim Zhi Hsuan

Malaysian violinist Zhi Hsuan Lim is a graduate of the Royal College of Music, London, where she completed the Bachelor of Music (Honours) programme and Master of Music in Performance with Distinction. Zhi Hsuan studied with Mathilde Milwidsky, Detlef Hahn, and Kathron Sturrock, with piano as her second study. At the age of 16, she was awarded the LTCL Performance Diploma (Distinction) from Trinity College London.

Zhi Hsuan has performed extensively as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician in the United Kingdom and internationally. She has appeared with the RCM Symphony Orchestra at the Aldeburgh Festival and co-led the RCM Opera Orchestra in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. Her performances have taken place at prominent venues including Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cadogan Hall, Snape Maltings Concert Hall, St John’s Smith Square, and St James’s Piccadilly.

She has shared the stage with international artists such as Dante Milozzi and Valérie Aimard, and has participated in masterclasses and workshops with members of the Marmen Quartet Laia Braun and Bryony Gibson-Cornish, Mats Zetterqvist, Eszter Haffner, Amanda Truelove, and Saskia Lethiec.

Her notable achievements include winning Third Prize in the Young Artiste Category of the Euroasia Strings Competition in 2018, and Second Prize at the HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana International Ensemble Competition in Bangkok, Thailand, where she performed as one of the violin soloists with Arioso Sinfonia. Zhi Hsuan was also part of a major recording project of the Malaysian State Anthems, led by His Royal Highness Tunku Zain Al-'Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, Patron of the Euroasia Association of Performing Arts.

A dedicated educator and arts leader, Zhi Hsuan currently leads the educational initiatives for the Euroasia Academy, overseeing educational programmes and mentoring young musicians. Since returning to Malaysia, she has become a sought-after clinician and adjudicator, including serving on the jury panel for the 13th Hong Kong Youth Performing Arts Festival, complemented by an extensive portfolio of workshops, masterclasses, and recital engagements at institutions including SIBOFest, Sunway University, and the Malaysian Institute of Art.
