While studying abroad in Taiwan, Janice performed with the Hwa-Kang Strings Orchestra (華岡弦樂團) as Principal Second Violin.
Upon returning to Malaysia in 2017, Janice was determined to further refine her skills and teaching methods. She continued her violin studies under the guidance of Angel Lee, focusing on violin pedagogy and methodology. She has worked with children ranging from preschoolers to teenagers and is dedicated to building strong fundamental techniques in young violinists. Her dedication has enabled her students to excel in numerous international examinations and competitions. She hopes to raise awareness of the importance of ensemble playing as an essential part of holistic music education.
Janice believes that learning violin is not only about mastering the instrument, but also about developing perseverance, discipline, active listening, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others in a team.
As an active performer both locally and abroad, Janice believes that music is most inspiring when performing with others. She performs regularly in weddings, live bands and also orchestras. Janice currently freelances with various orchestras and ensembles, including Rhapsody Ensemble and Hallelujah Oratorio Society. She also serves in her local church as a musician.
