Ottophony Vocal Ensemble is an award-winning vocal ensemble based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Originally formed as a vocal quintet, they made their debut at the MIA Ladies Chorus Fundraising Concert in 2017. Over the years, they have evolved into a vocal octet and have been featured in prestigious events, including Young Malaysian Go Classics Vol. II and the Hungarian Embassy’s Gala Dinner, celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Malaysia.
Ottophony has also been invited to perform internationally, including appearances as guest performers at the Sacred Polyphony 2 Festival (2019) and the Voices of Singapore Festival (2022). Actively competing on the global stage, they have earned numerous accolades, including Gold Awards at the 2018 Hong Kong International Music Festival, the 2022 Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod – International Choir Festival, and most recently, the 2023 Vietnam International Choir Festival, where their artistic director Darrel Chan was also awarded Best Conductor.
Under Darrel’s leadership, Ottophony continues to push artistic boundaries, showcasing their versatility and passion for vocal excellence.
