Superbear Productions is a Malaysian film/television and theatre company focused on bold story-telling, genre-driven narratives and character-led worlds that resonate across Southeast Asia and beyond.At the creative heart of Superbear is actor/writer/director Gavin Yap. With a decades-spanning career on stage and screen, Gavin brings an auteur’s sensitivity to genre story-telling while remaining unafraid to push narrative boundaries. After producing the romantic thriller ‘Take Me To Diner’ (2014) and the top rated telemovie ‘Kebab Gentlemen’(2020), both directed by Yap, Superbear turned it’s attention to theatre with the staging of Gavin’s one man show, Fork It: One Man’s Journey Through Food & Memories, also produced and hosted by Bobo KL. The first run of the show in November 2024 sold out and was again successfully restaged in May 2025. Looking ahead, Superbear remains committed to developing stories with emotional depth, social bite and visual flair - across all genres. Their next production, Pewaris, a site specific theatre experience made with the support of Yayasan Hasanah, will be staged at Temu House in April 2026.
